Enquête sur Le Secret (Investigating The Secret)

Jean-Charles Condo and Natacha Condo-Dinucci

couv_Secr.internetEnquête sur Le Secret is the result of a meticulous investigation that debunks the theory put forward in the bestselling The Secret, which has sold over 10 million copies in 35 languages around the world. Far more than a book and a successful DVD, Rhonda Byrne’s The Secret has become a societal phenomenon unto itself. Millions of practitioners staunchly believe that the “law of attraction,” which is the heart of the message, is supported by scientific principles.

But the authors of Enquête sur Le Secret have dared to appeal to the public’s intelligence. After questioning a number of specialists, they present their findings: under examination, the supposedly scientific basis of The Secret crumbles. According to the authors, the foundation of The Secret comes from a religious and metaphysical movement that became popular in the United States in the early twentieth century. Closely related to magical thinking and sorcery, The Secret’s method also shares several points in common with sectarian thought. This book provides an antidote to The Secret… and sheds some interesting light on a few other secrets behind the phenomenon.
